Circa 1827. The brooch was a gift from a bridegroom to his bride, Mrs. Ellis, on her 18th birthday, her wedding day. Note the thickness of the brooch in the second pic as well as the distinct C clasp.

 

SOME ONE HAD GLUED THIS COIN INTO PENDANT MOUNTING. IT HAS COME OUT AND I HAVE NOT TRIED TO RE~GLUE IT. I HAVE NO IDEA OF VALUE SO YOU DECIDE. ESTATE ITEMS SO EXACT AGE IS UNKNOWN TO ME. GENTLE CLEANI
