This early 9" textile spool was made in England by Wilkinson and came from the New England area. Nice 1800's piece of history of the American Industrial revolution. It is capped in brass at both ends

 

I have not been able to find much info on this early motor. i think it was for a foundry or blacksnith blower. i have not tested it for fear of doing damage. it spins freely though. i cleaned it light
