This is a really unique piece and should clean up well.  Not sure of its exact circa, but it is very, very old.  Very nice detail in brass as seen in the pics.  Have not tested if works due to ship

 

Up for auction is a very rare sad iron that I believe came from Spain. It is totally an antique and has the cast iron heat insert, very innovative for the time. This one seems to have a serial number
