This is a cute solid box , but I am not sure of the materials that it is made from. It is not wood, and could be a solid older plastic.

 

These pieces have no cracks, flakes or chips. The larger hen measures 4 3/4" from bottom of nest to top of comb. The nest measures 5 1/4" on opening and 3 3/4" on length of base. There is a #3 embosse
