THE IS NEW I BELIEVE. THE BOX IS A LITTLE ROUGH AND WICK HAS NEVER BEEN IN KEROSENE. DOSEN'T SMELL OF IT BUT THE TOP OF WICK SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN BURNED.WICK ENDS THAT ARE IN KEROSENE ARE NOT TAPED BUT
