This tatanua was carved in Libba Village and used in the Malagan ceremony in 2006. It was field collected while documenting the ceremony itself. Please take note of the intricate carving and attention

 

This is a very rare example of a Native American Cherokee carved wood cane or dance stick. The piece is too short to walk with so I am assuming that it would have been used as some sort of dance stick
