This is a small brass pocket compass fitted in its original black bakelite or early plastic case with screw on top and it dates to around the 1920's - 1930's. Although small measuring only 1 1/2 inche

 

Ample is 7 3/4 x 1 1/4 diameter. Very unusual mint condition . I have two of them. The other is a tad less shiny. Very collectible.
